Whilst details remain to be confirmed as this is written we anticipate – with huge enthusiasm – the next round of lockdown restriction easing from Monday 17th May.

If things progress as anticipated the major change you will see at Wishful will be the return of table service indoors. It is likely that the rule of six will apply again but whatever restrictions are in place we will just be delighted to be able to welcome you back into the beating bosom of the bar!!

Now, we don’t want to jinx anything but as things stand, we are looking at a new set up at WD that should feature

• Our three Al Fresco tables ideal for loading bay libations
• Around 8 tables inside (depending on social distancing rules)
• An enhanced, beautiful internal layout to Rickmansworth’s premier craft beer venue
• The wonderful wall-of-beer (200 or so bottles and cans on shelves/in fridges) will be on your left as you enter
• Tables – including our dual level permanent step straddler seats – will be on your right as you enter
• Increase from six to 8 craft beer lines so expect some cracking additional choices and exciting new styles – DIPAs. TIPAs, gose, sour, fruit, saison etc,
• Similarly, we will increase the number of craft ciders on tap from six to 8.
• Eventual resumption of Quizful Tuesday, Meet the Brewer, a DIPA Tasting Experience and similar events potentially including a “Puppy Night” for all the Wishfullers with lockdown canine cubs.
• We anticipate tables will be available on a first come first served basis but will keep this under review in the light of whatever social distancing measure may be in place.

As soon as Government confirms the new lockdown arrangements from 17th May we will let you know via our social media channels what this actually means for Wishfullers. But let’s be honest – any new guidance that allows us easier, more flexible access to good beer will be hugely welcome and a massive step in the right direction.
